This shot of Tim Armstrong was taken during Rancid’s electrifying set at the Musink Tattoo Festival on March 20, 2015, at the Orange County Fairgrounds in Costa Mesa, CA. The festival was a perfect collision of tattoo culture and punk rock energy, and Rancid absolutely owned the stage that night.
I caught this moment as Tim leaned into his iconic, battle-worn guitar with “DIRTY” scrawled across it, unleashing raw emotion in every strum. The stark stage lighting carved out his silhouette, highlighting the passion and grit that define his performances. Watching him perform live, surrounded by a crowd singing every word, felt like a reminder of why punk rock still matters.
